Who Needs to go to School for Photography?
Photography is an experiment of knowing the limits and capabilities of equipment, the study of line and color, but, most importantly, personal style. Going to school for the arts in general is wonderful for being able to sit through critiques of your own work while having access to equipment that is not normally available. Going to school is also great for having a hands on critique with an experienced teacher. It is that hands on and group learning that can be required by some people.
It is for the most part that I believe that photography is about personal style and experimenting. With the capabilities of cell phones, online learning through free sites such as YouTube. There is not much that you don’t have access too on your own or even in your pocket. There are many people that make a living with photography just through social media with even just a cell phone camera.
The capabilities that are available are astonishing will be ever growing more competitive. Work hard, always prepare for something to go wrong and keep driving your-self forward to know and experience more.
